Shepherdess Walk Buildings, Hackney
Originally light industrial workshops / studios built at the turn of the C20, the Buildings were converted in the 1990s into loft apartments and ground floor commercial space, with parking at basement level.
When a company was formed by the residents to buy out the freehold, I was appointed firstly to carry out a comprehensive Condition Survey, and then as the architect for a programme of freeholder repairs costing approximately £500,000.
The works principally address defects and delapidations to roofs, parapets, sash windows, rendered elevations and interiors to Common Parts.
