This house is perched on a site sloping in both directions, particularly from front to back.
This was exploited to create a very compact plan, with rooms reached off half-landings from the centrally placed stairs; and a very compact volume, with rooms arranged within the roof slopes.
A deceptively spacious house resulted, at a modest cost for the self-building owner.
